Ever since I can remember, I've wanted to be on stage. When I was three,
I dreamed of being a prima ballerina, with the pink satin shoes, the
tutus, the sequins, and the handsome prince. Well, then I grew up (well,
sorta...I only hit 4' 11") and "developed," and dreams
of satin slippers faded away. But dreams of performing didn't, and somewhere
in my preteens, I got bitten by the musical theatre bug. At least that
way, I could still dance and sing and perform!
And then, prompted by my mother (thanks, Mom!), in high school I decided
to audition as a flutist for the Georgia Renaissance Festival. And,
well, somehow, I just never left.
Okay, that's not entirely true. I did head off to DC for 4 years to
study musical theatre, and got a great education, as well as some
much
needed confidence. After returning to Georgia, I decided to learn the
guitar as well (thanks Charles, for buying me every single guitar
I
own, and Matthew for imparting your guitar wisdom upon me). Somewhere
along the line, I managed to join forces with Rivka and Dolph to
form
Three Quarter Ale (thanks Kara!). And the rest, as they say, is history....
In addition to playing some really fun "Celtic/folk/funk" with
TQA, I can also be seen rockin' the house with Karma Lingo (also featuring
Renn Fest favorites the Lost Boys, as well as Shakespeare
Tavern caterer Nancy Myers). And speaking of the Tavern, I work the
box office there, as well as occasionally getting to perform in some
shows.
Other random stuff about me: I love to read, especially fantasy and
historical fiction. I'm a bonafide Lord of the Rings geek (thanks Matthew...it's
all your fault!). I still love to dance...I've left ballet behind,
but
I've done jazz dance, tap, ballroom (love to swing dance!), and a little
belly dancing. Plus, I love drum circles and 80's tunes. And apparently,
I can't strum the guitar without sounding like I'm playing an Indigo
Girls tune.
