from groups performing this week at a faire near
you. Hosted by Kristen Roger and Marc Gunn. Subscribe

Friends and Family
The
Lost Boys...the original teal-clad Ren-rock sensation! Art thou
ready to experience the awesome metal power of the Bonny Boys in Blue?
Lindsay Smith...groovy
Atlanta singer-songwriter and real-world alter-ego (boy, that's a lot
of hyphens) of the Georgia Renaissance Festival's own brilliant protest
singer, Joni Minstrel.
Speechless...Prog
instrumentals for people who hate prog. Catchy, fun and rockin'.
Jeff McKerley...sexy, silly,
soulful star of the Shakespearean (and other) stage. H-where will he
next tread the boards? Do find out, won't you?
Marc Gunn...tireless and talented musician, he of the Brobdingnagian
Bards. When he sings, kitties everywhere purr, stretch in the sun, and
feign disinterest while being petted.
Mickle-a-do...pub-shakin',
foot-stompin', fiddle-sawin', Irish-jiggin' band of the highest order.
Kelly Stewart...amazing harpist
that plays beautiful music. She's also Rivka's harp teacher.
The Starboard Watch /
Susan Hickey...magnificently soulful singer and a dedicated scholar
of traditional music. I swear, 85% of the songs the folks out at
the Georgia faire
know, they learned from Susan.
Craig of Farrington...Ah,
the crimson-bearded lutenist. The Bawdy Beautiful. Craig is the real
deal...he's probably as close as you'll ever see to a true Renaissance-style
minstrel, whether he's plunking out a beautiful melody or a clever,
saucy ditty.
Emerald Rose...Frodo's faves and some swell guys.
Tenpenny
Travelers...one of Pete's favorite pub acts. Obviously the
only thing better than being the only bloke in a band with two beautiful
birds is being the only bloke in a band with four beautiful
birds.
Great
Scott!...
Becky's groovy 80's cover band. Watch Becky let her hair (farther) down
and rock fully out.
Events and Venues
The Georgia Renaissance Festival...our
home faire. Grab a fryed-whatsoever-upon-ye-olde-stycke and come find
us in the Brewer's Pub. (Where else would you find Ale?)
The Carolina
Renaissance Festival...beautiful venue, great folks. Plus, the crisp
fall weather makes it fun to be outside amidst the trees.
The New American Shakespeare
Tavern...vittles, booze, and the Bard. See Shakespeare as it's
meant to be seen...with a steaming bowl of Shepherd's Pie in front
of you. My stomach just growled as I wrote that.
Dragon*Con...are you a big
fat geek...of any discipline? Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, comics,
anime, whatever? Yeah? We are too. Great, ain't it?
The North Georgia Celtic
Festival...since this event is hosted by the venerable Emerald
Rose, and they played for the Lord
of the Rings Oscar parties, it's kinda like we know Billy
Boyd by proxy...right? Right?
Other Stuff
CDBaby...the online independent
music retailer. These guys always give a square deal, they're organized
and easy to work with, they look out for their artists, and their catalog
is huge. Someday retailers like this will replace the major chain stores.
And finally...well...I always laugh when I look at their logo.
Wicked
Pete's Guitar...just in case I've inspired you to buy one and play
it. Or smash it. Or if you're a Takamine rep looking to give me an endorsement.
I need about five more of these, please, with a "TQA" inset
at the twelfth fret, and a few of the electric-acoustic model. (And
a smaller one for A.P.)
Oh,
and strings...don't forget the strings, you D'Addario reps out there.
I go through 'em like cocktail weenies.
